Around the towns of Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé we find the origin of the grape variety sauvignon blanc. The expressive white Loire wines are presented here. The grapes grow in lime-rich soils with very flint and it gives healthy wines with clear minerality and some smokiness. La Craie also has a fantastic aroma of green apples.
