Gorgeous black fruit, gravel, violets, black cherry, anise, juicy palate with nice stucture and velvety tannins along with chocolate flavors. Finishes with very elegant bittersweet tannins. This midnight black colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Burgess is very good. It opens with blackberry bouquet with a hint of boysenberry and cedar. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a ripe blackberry with notes of minerality and cassis. I also detected hints of boysenberry as well. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. This Cab is very food friendly and would pair nicely with a slow-cooked prime rib.
