Matured in oak; a sweet, elegant, richly flavoured but nonetheless fresh-tasting ruby port. Vanillin and spice-tinged berries and plums caress the nose. This Ruby Port, Porto Barros Ruby is a wine made from red grapes from the Douro Valley, grown in the vineyards of the slopes along the banks of the Douro River. It is a fortified wine, due to the addition of brandy. Aged in oak casks for 2 years before being bottled. Intense ruby color. Aromas of black fruits, blackberries and cherries with subtle nuances of bitter almond. The palate is rich, intense, notes of mint and with a surrounding acidity.
